Like You, This Belt Is Ready for Anything
When plans can change at a moment’s notice, change with them. This luxurious leather belt combines versatile mid-brown vegetable-tanned bovine leather with full-grain bison leather harvested in the United States of America.
Whether dressing for the boardroom or a weekend escape, this reversible belt strikes the perfect balance between casual elegance and quiet strength. It embodies the rare harmony between resilience and refinement, a piece designed not only to complete an outfit, but to become a lasting signature of your personal style.
Bison Brown, for Modern-Day Cowboys
The bison leather side is a classic brown shade, given unique personality by the texture of the genuine bison leather. You will note in particular that the peaks of the bison leather are darker than the valleys, giving the leather a transitional effect: this gradient means that this belt will harmonize beautifully with almost any brown leather shoe.
Brown might be the most underutilized color in menswear, but this belt makes it easier to wear brown than ever before. Contrasting cream thread further emphasizes its more casual nature.
The Limitless Potential of Mid-Brown
The bovine leather side is a beautiful mid-brown that is stately and elegant, with tone-on-tone stitching for a more elevated, formal appearance.
For a similar effect with a conventional one-sided belt, consider our Medium Brown Vegetable Tanned Leather Belt.
Discover the Distinction of Bison Leather
Stronger, rarer, and full of character, our bison leather belts are crafted for gentlemen who demand the extraordinary. With a natural strength up to 40% more robust than traditional cowhide, bison offers unmatched durability without sacrificing refinement.
The deeply textured, naturally shrunken grain creates ridges and valleys that are never duplicated, ensuring your belt is truly one of a kind. This effect is similar to that of our shrunken calf leathers, but with a more pronounced appearance. Unlike uniform leathers, bison develops a rugged yet sophisticated look that appeals to men who appreciate authenticity and individuality.
Two Belts In One
An investment in Fort Belvedere’s reversible belt means versatility without compromise. Each belt offers two timeless colorways, crafted for the greatest styling flexibility, so you enjoy the benefits of two luxury belts for the price of one. Effortlessly transition from casual outings to formal affairs, knowing your accessories are always in harmony.
Designed for Versatility
Part of our fully exchangeable belt system, this piece pairs flawlessly with any Fort Belvedere buckle. Whether you prefer silver or gold, both leather tones are designed to complement a range of metallic finishes. The result? A wardrobe staple that evolves with your style and stands out for all the right reasons.

Capture the Spirit of the West with American Bison Leather
One side of this luxury leather belt is made from North American bison hide, tanned in the United States of America.
Bison leather presents a singular charm that blends rugged authenticity with quiet sophistication. Its deep, naturally varied grain, marked by distinctive pebbling, speaks to the untamed character of the American frontier, while exuding a refined, artisanal appeal. Notably thicker and denser than conventional cowhide, bison leather offers a satisfying heft and a reassuring durability, yet it yields gracefully with use, developing a mellow suppleness and a handsome patina over time.
We have partially shrunk our bison leather, which further emphasizes its remarkable texture and makes this belt into a true statement piece.
Superior Bovine Leather
It Starts with the Cows
The leather for the second side of this reversible belt was made from hides harvested in Germany from Alpine cows. Because they grazed in pastures with a colder climate, these cows were less likely to be bitten by bugs, meaning that their hides have considerably fewer blemishes than those from cows that lived in insect-dense regions.
A Legacy of Excellence
The hides are then tanned in a family-owned, heritage German tannery that has been in operation for over 130 years. Through the generations this tannery has developed unique approaches to leather production that create gorgeous leather that is truly unrivaled.
For instance, it is a house rule that this tannery only works with leather cut from the shoulder of the cow. The shoulder cut is well-suited to leather belts because it has a grain and overall dermal consistency that doesn’t warp, stretch, or crease even when under constant flex.
Because of where on the shoulder this leather is harvested from, a light streak or rippling may be visible in the leather. This is not a defect, but an essential part of the natural allure of this untreated, open-pore aniline-dyed leather.
Informed by Nature
With an eye towards sustainability, this tannery privileges traditional, natural methodologies that are consistent with environmental protection. These traditional processes are part of the legacy of knowledge, skill, and experience that has been passed down through the generations.
This tannery only creates vegetable-tanned leathers. The tanning process utilizes natural ingredients, including tannins derived from oak bark. The skins are greased with natural fats, which are not only better for the environment but also impart a warm, pleasant feel to the finished leather.

- Each belt is about 29 mm / 1.14″ wide.
- Each belt weighs between 90 and 120 grams / 3 to 4.2 ounces.
- Each belt features five diamond-shaped holes for the prong.
- These holes are spaced about 2.5 cm / 1″ apart
- Please note that if you pin the belt through its last hole, it can accommodate waists of an additional 5cm / 2″, although we do not recommend wearing the belt in this way as it can appear distended or stubby.
Cutting Your Belt to Size
- Our belts are designed to be cut down to size from their unfinished edge so that they fit you perfectly. We offer individual sizing to reduce waste where possible.
- Try the uncut belt on for size to determine exactly where you want to cut it.
- Cut the belt down to size using sharp scissors or a sharp knife.
- If you are not sure about your size, you can always buy the longest belt and cut more of it down.
Care Instructions
- Due to an intensive dyeing process and the unique blend of waxes that protect their finish, our belts require minimum care.
- To keep the belt supple and shining, we recommend applying once every six months to a year a thin coat of clear quality shoe or leather cream.
- We suggest avoiding shoe polishes, as they can come off on your clothes or appear cracked if excess is applied to the belt’s surface.
Cleaning Instructions
- If your belt becomes dirty or soiled, first wipe down the stained area with a clean cotton or microfiber cloth dampened with a small amount of water. Allow the area to then dry fully.
- If the stain persists, you can apply a small amount of a quality leather cleaning solution, following all listed instructions.
- If your belt leather is ever nicked or damaged, apply a colored polish that matches your belt color over the damage area. Immediately wipe away any excess, and then polish the area with a cotton cloth.
Storage Instructions
- When not in regular use store your belts in a cool, dry place to prevent the leather from drying out or the color from fading.
- We prefer to store our belts hanging loosely from a belt rack or hook.
- If so desired, belts can be stored in a loose roll.
- Do not tightly roll your belt as doing so can cause the formation of creases.
How to Remove Creases
- If properly sized and cared for, this belt should not develop creases.
- If creases do develop, apply a leather cream to the affected area, following all listed instructions.
- We recommend utilizing a quality leather cream made with natural ingredients like mink, neatsfoot, or coconut oil, or beeswax.
