Ready for Town or Country
No brown in town? No black out back? What if you could do both?
This luxurious reversible belt brings together two gorgeous leathers, each tanned at a heritage tannery, one in the United Kingdom, and one in the Germany. Its black boxcalf finish conveys a refined, urban sophistication, while the bridle shoulder reveals subtle growth markings that celebrate the authenticity of the hide.
One side is all business, with a stately black boxcalf leather that has the formality and the refinement to shine at an important board meeting or an intimate evening dinner. The other is a beautiful tan, ready for a day out with the hounds or a leisurely stroll over the estate.
The tan side features subtly contrasting thread, while the black side is more formal with tone-on-tone stitching.
No matter how you choose to wear it, this belt embodies all aspects of the gentlemanly lifestyle.

The Boxcalf Leather: Plush and Decadent
The hides for the black boxcalf side of the belt come exclusively from calves. Calf skin is superior to cowhide in every way when it comes to belt leather:
- Exceptionally soft touch
- Dazzling grain appearance
- Durable flexibility.
Bred To Be The Best
Because these calves were raised in the colder climate of the Alps, there are fewer pests to bite their hides, meaning that the final hide has fewer blemishes.
From these hides, only the choicest sections of the croupon, or bend, of the hide are actually used. The croupon corresponds roughly to the central and lower back of the calf, excluding the spine area, because this section of skin affords the smoothest, softest, and most consistent leathers.
A Luxury Tannery
The hide is then prepared in the same tannery employed by several high-end fashion houses, but that’s not why we picked the tannery. We picked it for its heritage of excellence, dedication to craft, and impeccable results, which truly speak for themselves.
Genuine Bridle Leather
A belt made from English bridle leather is not just an accessory, it’s a statement of tradition, craftsmanship, and enduring style.
This luxurious belt has been crafted from legendary vegetable‑tanned bridle leather, a material historically reserved for equestrian tack such as bridles, harnesses, and reins, which necessitate the utmost in strength, durability, and refined beauty.
Sourced To Be Superior
This leather comes from the premium shoulder cut of the hide, where the natural growth marks and subtle streaks tell the story of the animal’s life. These markings are not flaws, but unique signatures of authenticity and character.
Because bridle leather requires the finest hides, with uniform grain and minimal imperfections, few tanneries in the world still produce it.
Crafted By the Best
The bridle tanning process is one of the most labor‑intensive and prestigious leather treatments in the world. Unlike standard vegetable tanning, English bridle leather is enriched with oils and waxes at high temperatures into both the grain and flesh sides before dyeing. This imbues it with a luxuriously smooth finish, a supple hand, and a subtle matte sheen.
The result is a leather that’s both visually striking and remarkably comfortable to wear from the very first time you buckle it.
The artisan who makes our belts calls this “the most beautiful leather I have ever worked with”, and it’s easy to see why. Over time, it develops a rich patina that only enhances its elegance, making it a belt you’ll enjoy for decades.
Please Note: Over time, this leather will develop small, whitish spots. These spots are created by the waxes in the leather coagulating on the surface. This is not a defect and is simply a natural process that comes with how this leather is made. Simply wipe the spots with a soft, clean cloth to remove them.

- These holes are spaced about 2.5 cm / 1″ apart
- Please note that if you pin the belt through its last hole, it can accommodate waists of an additional 5cm / 2″, although we do not recommend wearing the belt in this way as it can appear distended or stubby.
Cutting Your Belt to Size
- Our belts are designed to be cut down to size from their unfinished edge so that they fit you perfectly. We offer individual sizing to reduce waste where possible.
- Try the uncut belt on for size to determine exactly where you want to cut it.
- Cut the belt down to size using sharp scissors or a sharp knife.
- If you are not sure about your size, you can always buy the longest belt and cut more of it down.
Help This Belt Last a Lifetime
This leather has been oak bark-tanned for strength and durability. When it requires cleaning, or to restore its appearance, we recommend:
- Wipe the leather with a damp cloth, applying saddle soap and buffing with a cloth or soft brush.
- Allow to air dry naturally.
Please do not use oil based leather feeds as these displace the greases in the leather and cause the fibers to dry out and degrade.
Please Note: When you receive your leather, it will likely have a white-ish residue on the grain side. This residue, called dubbin, can be removed with a soft bristled brush such as used to shine shoes.
This residue is not a defect and does not negatively affect the quality of the leather in any way. It is a natural result of how the leather has been made, and can be easily and safely wiped away.
